Growing fast makes it harder to stay connected to customers, but staying connected to customers is what lets you grow fast.

In the beginning, staying close to your customers is easy. You know them by name and are on the hook personally for delivering on their priorities. But as your company grows, it gets harder.

We experienced this first hand during our decade at HubSpot, where we were responsible for product vision and becoming a CRM market leader. There were lots of reasons for HubSpot’s success, but the biggest one in our opinion is that we stayed close to customers - even as we were growing fast.

Knowing this, we started a regular “Voice of the Customer” meeting. We would sort through recordings of sales meetings, customer calls, and support emails to develop a story backed by video clips and quotes. Even though it took forever to pull together, it was worth it. Customer verbatims kept us close to the truth, and kept everyone pulling in the same direction. But we also knew there had to be a more efficient way to collect, analyze, and act on this information.

When we saw what was becoming possible with new AI models, we started imagining an entirely new vision for CRM. A product designed not to sort flat data in tables, but rather to keep companies hyper-connected to what their customers want, in a way that feels as natural as having a conversation.

You can’t just bolt new AI onto Legacy CRM.

Today the right AI can magically bring the voice of your customers into the center of every decision and interaction. But you can’t get there by integrating a meeting assistant and tons of other tools onto your legacy CRM.

CRM has become a rigid, incomplete set of customer data. It was built to store information on business cards and proposals, not generate productivity, insights, and alignment from massive amounts of unstructured conversation data. Anyone who’s had to create custom CRM fields to accommodate meeting notes, or wrestle with properties to be able to build a simple report knows what we’re talking about.

To grow fast today, you need to re-think the way you gather, analyze, and share information, and that’s exactly what we’re setting out to do.

Today we’re announcing Day.ai: a new type of CRM that we call Customer Intelligence.

Day.ai replaces the manual data entry, integrations, and complicated interfaces of the bolt-on AI to CRM approach by allowing you to automatically capture, organize, analyze, and share the conversations that are the lifeblood of your business. It combines the features of a CRM, a meeting assistant, and a knowledge base into a single, unified product that keeps you and your team connected to what customers actually want.

Here’s how it works:

Day.ai creates an already-full CRM for you automatically, pulling from the natural conversations in your email and video meetings. Every relationship gets categorized and summarized, which means you can quickly build a list of investors, sales prospects, or current customers without ever needing to tell Day.ai who’s who. You get reminded to follow up at the right time, without the need to create tasks manually.

Person Record in Day.ai

Every morning, Day.ai preps you for the meetings on your calendar by sorting through recent conversations and giving you the exact information you need to show up with confidence. After your meetings, Day.ai automatically writes meeting notes, drafts follow ups, updates your pipeline, and creates clips of key moments to share with your team.

Sales Opportunity Automation

We’re building Day.ai not just to help you uncover important customer insights, but to provide a whole new way to share and act on them.
